Our recording-room is about 5m x 4,50m (16.4' x 14.7') and comes akin to the control-room with a daylight window. This, of course, can be acoustically sealed and dimmed, but offers according to your whim and liking the possibility to work in daylight.
The complete room acoustics are specifically designed to achieve for the recording relevant and usable (short) attenuations. Big and loud instruments like electric guitar or drums sound supremely natural here, without distracting overlays or phase obliterations by undesired sonic reflections.
A drum podium, which is additionally acoustically shielded from the floor, is part of the recording-room. The surface of the podium is upholstered with a robust and skid-proof carpeting, so no bass drum can "wander" around.
The remainder of the floor is covered with laminate and offers a good footfall sound insulation. Walls and ceilings are covered with knob foam and in every corner there is a Primacoustic Bass Trap (to absorb deep frequencies), creating very neutral room acoustics (ideal for "dry" drum- or guitar recordings).
A big sound proof window to the control-room provides constant eye contact between musician and producer.
